Man Utd transfer target Adam Wharton could be sold for around £60m this summer, according to reports.

The Sun claim that the England international is keen on leaving Crystal Palace for a club playing in the Champions League, and the Eagles are willing to let him leave if their asking price is met.

United supporters on X are split on whether Wharton would be value for money:

Man Utd would prefer Anderson

There is no doubt that Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson is seen as the No. 1 target by the club’s recruitment team. However, there is an acceptance that Manchester City remain favourites for his signature.

Of course, things could still change, but if the Red Devils are forced to move on to other options, then Wharton will come under consideration.

Are there any alternatives to Wharton?

As some fans have mentioned, the likes of Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller, Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali, Real Madrid’s Aurelien TchouameniBrighton’s Carlos Baleba and West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes are also said to be on the club’s radar.

At £60m, though, Wharton would be among the cheapest to sign (if the reported valuation is accurate), but you can imagine that other teams would enter the race for his services at that price.

Real Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea have been mentioned as potential suitors for the 22-year-old in recent months.
