Peter Crouch predicts Newcastle vs West Ham score

Peter Crouch is concerned about West Ham’s game against Newcastle, as he wants Tottenham to avoid relegation.

The Hammers have an easier game on paper than Spurs’ London derby against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.

A victory for Nuno’s team would probably make them favourites to survive, putting Tottenham under immense pressure.

Although Crouch recognised West Ham’s potentially stronger desire to win, he predicted a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

“This worries me from a Tottenham point of view, this one,” he said. “I’m leaning towards what Rio (Ferdinand) said, actually, with regards to West Ham needing it more.

“I think they might get a result here, but can they win? I think a win might be a bridge too far, but I’m gonna say 1-1.”

A draw away to Newcastle would normally be an excellent result, but on this occasion, it would be a missed opportunity.

However, ex-Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell expects West Ham to get the three points they desperately need.

“I’m going to go for a West Ham win,” Sidwell responded. “I think they get this done. The Geordies won’t be happy up there, wow. I’m going to go 1-0 (West Ham).”

Hammers supporters can only hope that Sidwell’s prediction is more accurate than Crouch’s ahead of this weekend’s fixtures.
