Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi has announced he will leave the club at the end of the season.

The Argentina international joined the Cherries from Feyenoord on a four-year deal for an undisclosed transfer fee in 2022 and has since gone on to make 126 appearances in all competitions.

Bournemouth have reportedly offered the centre-back several lucrative offers over the past year, but he has decided to part ways when his contract expires this summer.

A number of top clubs in the Premier League and Europe have been linked with Senesi in recent months. He has reportedly been on the radar of Chelsea and Liverpool, while Manchester United were also said to be monitoring him.

Juventus and AS Roma have also been linked, but last month it was claimed that the 29-year-old has already reached an agreement in principle to join Tottenham Hotspur if they avoid relegation from the top flight.

Speaking his departure, Senesi said: “From the first day I arrived, I felt at home at this club. I’m proud of everything we achieved over the last four years and I’m grateful for the support the fans have always given me

“AFC Bournemouth will always hold a special place for me and I will look back at my time here with fond memories. For now, there are still two big games left of the season and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together.”

Bournemouth face a challenging summer ahead of them as they will now lose one of their key players as well as their manager, Andoni Iraola, after he announced in April he will leave the club at the end of the season.
