Nuno Espirito Santo confirms latest West Ham injury news ahead of huge Newcastle clash
Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed that Adama Traore has suffered an injury heading into Sunday’s game with Newcastle United.
The January signing hasn’t played for West Ham United since coming off the bench at Brentford earlier this month and it remains to be seen if he can feature in next weekend’s clash with Leeds.
Let us know your prediction for West Ham’s trip to Newcastle! 🤞
Our away record has been woeful this season! 😬
Traore has only made 12 appearances for the club since joining from Fulham, despite working with Nuno at Wolves.
Adama Traore is West Ham’s only injury ahead of Newcastle clash
Asked about the latest team news ahead of Newcastle versus West Ham, Nuno said: “We have Adama who is out for this game, but the rest of the squad is good.
“He was not available for Arsenal, and he’ll miss this one.”
The fact that the Hammers boss has largely a fully fit squad from which to choose is obviously a huge boost.
Imagine you’re Nuno – what changes are you making ahead of Newcastle? 💭
Back four? Start Wilson? What would you do? 🤔
Three points for West Ham would take them out of the relegation zone with just one game to play, although Tottenham could overtake them if they beat Chelsea on Tuesday night.
The Irons simply have to beat Newcastle on Sunday and not having any fresh injuries to deal with is clearly a boost on that front.

West Ham’s away form has been poor in recent weeks, but Nuno has to go on the attack on Tyneside.
As such, it would not be a surprise to see him revert to the 4-4-2 shape that has broadly served him well since mid-January onwards.
Pablo Felipe is an option to replace Jean-Clair Todibo, although fans will no doubt be hoping to see Callum Wilson start the game against his former club.
The rest of the team has largely picked itself in recent months, with West Ham generally unchanged over the last few months aside from tactical tweaks at times.
