The most assists in a season in Europe’s top-five leagues this century as record-chasing Olise hits 30
Michael Olise has reached the latest landmark of his phenomenal campaign with Bayern Munich after recording his 30th assist of the campaign across all competitions.
The Frenchman has been the creative hub of Vincent Kompany’s free-scoring side, who have obliterated the Bundesliga’s goal record on route to another German title.
Bayern have scored 117 goals in 33 games ahead of their season finale against Köln today, with Olise having notched up 19 assists in the league alone. No player across Europe’s top-five leagues has created more league goals than the 24-year-old.
Olise’s assists in the Bundesliga have come from only 23 starts, averaging an assist every 120 minutes in the league this season.
Olise has also now passed 30 assists across all competitions, becoming only the fourth player to achieve that feat this century.
Lionel Messi twice surpassed 30 assists at Barcelona (2011/12 and 2014/15), while Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne (2022/23) and Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan (2015/16) have also achieved the feat.
Each of that trio recorded 31 assists in a single campaign and Olise will be out to break that record before the season’s end.
After facing Köln on the Bundesliga’s final day, Olise and Bayern face Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal final on May 23rd. Victory in that game will hand the German champions a domestic double.
