Disastrous injury for Tariq Lamptey on Fiorentina

Sadly, things went wrong very quickly in Italy. Lamptey made only a 3 minute substitute appearance against Napoli before starting a match against Como. That game lasted just 25 minutes for him before disaster struck and took him out. The defender suffered a serious ACL injury, one of the hardest injuries for any footballer to recover from.

The setback ruled him out for the rest of the season and completely stopped his progress at Fiorentina. This put an end his match appearance. In total, Lamptey played only 25 minutes for the club. According to GiveMeSport, the agreement to separate was mutual. This means that both the player and the club accepted that it was best for them to part ways.

This was not the first time injuries had damaged Lamptey’s career. During his years at Brighton, he also missed many matches because of knee and hamstring problems. Even though he often impressed when fit, his body never allowed him to play regularly for long periods.
