Conor Gallagher to Everton? Tottenham star faces uncertain future just 6 months after move
Conor Gallagher’s Tottenham Hotspur future is already facing uncertainty, with reports suggesting the midfielder could become the subject of transfer interest this summer.
Conor Gallagher only just completed a move to Tottenham during the winter transfer window, and has managed 19 starts for the north London club.
The former Chelsea midfielder, however, has not been entirely outstanding since arriving in N17, although he has started to find his feet under new boss Roberto De Zerbi.
Gallagher arguably produced his best performance in a Spurs shirt during Tottenham’s 2-1 win over Aston Villa a few weeks ago. The midfielder impressed in the middle of the park, scored his first goal for the club and led the press effectively throughout the game.
Tottenham face Conor Gallagher transfer concern
Despite signs of improvement, uncertainty continues to surround Tottenham as the club battles to avoid relegation heading into the closing weeks of the campaign.
The Sun is now reporting that, after just six months in north London, Conor Gallagher could soon be on his way out of Tottenham.
Spurs remain embroiled in a relegation battle with West Ham United; should they drop into the Championship, it is understood Gallagher could look to move on this summer.
Everton are reportedly the current suitors, with David Moyes’ side looking to strengthen their midfield options ahead of next season.
Spurs and Everton heading in opposite directions
The trajectory of Everton and Tottenham is very different at the moment. As things stand, Moyes’ side is pushing for a European finish and sits just two points away from eighth place, which guarantees Conference League football.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are only two points above the relegation zone, with West Ham still breathing down their necks heading into the final games of the season.
Everton could yet compound Spurs’ misery and send them down when the two sides meet on the final day of the season at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, for that to happen, Tottenham must lose to Chelsea while West Ham needs to beat Newcastle United in the penultimate gameweek of the campaign.
