“If that makes him happy, that’s him”

Como president Mirwan Suwarso has revealed that the Italian club will not block Cesc Fabregas if he wants to become the next Chelsea manager. He said that the Spaniard is free to make the switch if that is what he wishes in the summer.

Speaking to City AM, Suwarso said that he wants Fabregas to stay at the club as the manager has done well since being appointed. However, he will not force him to reject the chance to make the switch to Chelsea and said:

“If that makes him happy, that’s him. You want your employees to stay with you for as long as possible but at the end of the day we don’t own him and he’s free to go to Chelsea if he wishes.”

The Blues are back in the market looking for a manager after parting ways with Liam Rosenior. The Englishman was let go this week after the club suffered their sixth defeat in the last seven matches across all competitions.

They have now circled in on any manager, but the former midfielder is reported to be among the coaches they are looking at this summer. Xabi Alonso, Andoni Iraola, Frank Lampard and Filipe Luis are also said to be in the summer, but a final decision is yet ot be made.

Cesc Fabregas told to stay away from Chelsea by former player

Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has told Cesc Fabregas to avoid make the switch to Stamford Bridge. He believes that the Blue sare not the ideal club for him and he should consider joining Barcelona if the Catalan side are interested.

Speaking to GOAL, Petit said that it is a mess at Stamford Bridge and no manager will enjoy working at the club. He believes that the pressure will be similar at Barcelona, but better to join them.

“Cesc Fabregas to Chelsea? No, no, no. If you have to choose between Chels and Barcelona, you definitely go to Barcelona, not Chelsea. Chels is a mess. It’s a mess! It’s a nightmare for managers; it’s kind of a nightmare as well for the players, actually. You will find more serenity even if you face a lot of pressure in Barcelona.” (via GOAL)

Barcelona have not made a decision about sacking Hansi Flick, with the German expected to continue at the club beyond this season. Fabregas was linked with Inter Milan last summer, but the Italian stayed at Como.
