Chelsea Are ‘Determined’ To Land £39M Rated England U21 International Ahead Of Man Utd

Chelsea are the “most determined” among the four clubs trying to sign Bologna winger Jonathan Rowe, according to reports.
The Blues were linked with a move for the England Under-21 international in Italy last month, and TEAMtalk have confirmed the London club’s interest, along with some additional details.
Manchester United are expected to put up stiff competition in the race to snap up Rowe, having sent scouts to watch the player “regularly” over the course of this season.
Aston Villa and Galatasaray are also said to be interested in the 23-year-old, who made the switch from Marseille to Bologna last August.
Rowe would fill a problem position
The forward can play right across the front three, but he is usually deployed on the left wing so he can cut in onto his strong right foot.
It is a position that Chelsea have had major issues with this campaign. Neither of last summer’s signings, Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho, have hit the ground running, with the former having been sidelined since January with a serious hamstring injury.
From the looks of things, the Blues are seriously considering adding another option on that flank if the interest in Rowe is as serious as reported.
How much would Chelsea need to pay?
It is believed that Bologna would demand between €40m (£35m) and €45m (£39m) for Rowe, which is a substantial mark-up on the €17m that the Serie A side paid for him last year.
His numbers (8 goals and 4 assists) this season aren’t exactly that impressive so, once again, the Blues would be signing a player based on his potential.
