West Ham would then need to beat Leeds on Sunday and hope that Everton win away to Spurs to avoid relegation.

Three reasons West Ham fans should believe Chelsea will beat Spurs

The first reason for West Ham to be optimistic about Chelsea beating Tottenham is the history of the fixture.

Spurs have only won once at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League era, with 11 draws and 21 defeats.

Even when they have been the better team, Tottenham have almost always struggled when travelling to West London.

Secondly, Chelsea’s defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup final will give them even more motivation to win the game.

As it stands, the Blues will not be playing in any European competition under Xabi Alonso next season.

However, if they take all three points on Tuesday, they will have a strong chance of qualifying for the Europa League.
