‘Sack him now’… Furious West Ham fans turn on Nuno Espirito Santo as relegation fears deepen

Tottenham need just one point from two games (Chelsea away and Everton at home) to finish above West Ham.

Most Hammers fans are not waiting until their fate is mathematically sealed to make their minds up on Nuno.

They have already decided that he needs to be sacked after (probably) failing to keep his team in the Premier League.

West Ham fans demand Nuno Espirito Santo sack

West Ham supporters have been discussing on TalkingPoints whether the club should keep Nuno Espirito Santo for the 2025/26 Championship campaign.

The majority have given up on him after the Hammers’ dismal performance in a must-win game against Newcastle last weekend.

Even though he has a promotion with Wolves on his CV, fans are not interested in seeing him in the dugout at the London Stadium anymore.

“He failed. He got us relegated with his nonsense negative tactics,” a supporter said. “Today was the final straw. YAWN. Sack him now.”

Another added: “I think I’ve seen enough of Nuno’s so-called tactics! Time to find a manager who likes to play on the front foot!”

“He’s too negative, you need to score 90-100 goals to be promoted, and that’s not going to happen with Nuno nor the current forwards,” read one comment.

“Nuno is not the manager to take us forward, whichever division we are in,” explained another. “He was yet again too defensive-minded. We needed to be on the front foot from the start. We should have started with a back four, not three.”

It would appear that Nuno’s defensive approach, epitomised by a back three against Newcastle, has completely lost the fanbase.

Ipswich’s possession-based manager, Kieran McKenna, was suggested as a possible replacement, but why would he leave a Premier League club?

“Nuno’s team selections and lack of a decent squad were poor, and I think we need a fresh start,” the supporter wrote. “I like the Ipswich manager, but don’t think he’d come. The board also needs to go. New owners, please.”

However, not every West Ham fan wants Nuno to depart the club at the end of the season.

Two more responses were as follows: “Keep Nuno. He would get us back up,” and “We need to keep Nuno, a good manager, he will get us back up.”

Still, the overwhelming likelihood is that Nuno will exit West Ham after almost certainly failing to prevent them from going down.
