McCabe and Mariona in WSL Team of the Season | News
Katie McCabe and Mariona Caldentey have both been named in the Barclays Women’s Super League Team of the Season.
The departing McCabe has been a shining light for us, featuring in 20 matches this season. The Ireland international poses both an attacking and defending threat and has played an impressive 1430 minutes across the entire season.
She’s been an instrumental figure as we ended the second half of the season strongly. With a wicked long shot, her solitary goal came against Everton in a 3-1 win at Goodison Park back in December. She also added two assists.
It’s also been another impressive campaign for the 2024/25 BWSL Player of the Year, Mariona. This season, she has been an instrumental force in our midfield. Featuring in 18 matches, she’s racked up six goals and assists across the campaign.
Her best performance of the season? A midfield masterclass against Manchester City, setting up Olivia Smith to propel us into the UWCL places, and sparking an incredible second half of the season for us.
