There’s a genius aspect of Chelsea hiring Xabi Alonso that nobody is talking about
Xabi Alonso should be able to solve one issue that Liam Rosenior had at Stamford Bridge following his appointment as Chelsea manager.
It is the Liverpool legend Chelsea have turned to after sacking Rosenior at the beginning of January.
Trevoh Chalobah has already discussed Alonso’s appointment and his excitement over getting the opportunity to work with him. However, the central defender is not the only Chelsea star who will be delighted with his arrival.
Within the Chelsea dressing room, there was one particular group who really seemed far from impressed with Rosenior.

According to BBC Sport, Chelsea’s Spanish-speaking contingent, which includes the likes of Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella, were unconvinced by the 41-year-old.
While Rosenior was still at the club, both players revealed how much they were missing Enzo Maresca and refused to talk down moves to Spain.
The above will not be a problem for Chelsea’s new manager. Alonso is one of the finest midfielders Spanish football has ever produced and won the biggest honours during his playing career, including the World Cup and two European Championships.
After what he did for Spanish football, Chelsea’s Spanish-speaking contingent will have no choice but to respect him.

Hopefully, Alonso’s appointment can convince Fernandez to stay. The Argentine has been unsettled for the last few months, and there remains a possibility that he leaves Chelsea in the summer.
According to journalist Simon Phillips, Fernandez could depart Chelsea for Manchester City, with Enzo Maresca set to take over there following Pep Guardiola’s decision to step down at the end of the season. However, he will speak to Alonso first.
Fernandez has developed into one of Chelsea’s biggest goal threats. He attacks the box so well, whether he is arriving late from the No.8 position or already there as a No.10. Convincing him to stay has to be one of Alonso’s biggest priorities.
