The Blues still have a slight chance of reaching Europe. For Tottenham, they are looking for the points needed to stay safe in the Premier League.

Chelsea received another injury worry during the FA Cup final loss against Man City. Joao Pedro has picked-up a leg problem during the first half. The Brazilian continued playing before eventually leaving the field late in the game. His condition remains uncertain before the derby.

There was better news for the Blues after Pedro Neto, Alejandro Garnacho and Robert Sanchez returned to action. This comes after these three recovered from recent fitness concerns.

In addition, Neto could replace Reece James in the starting lineup. This will only happen if the club’s coaching staff decide not to take any risks with the team captain.

Team News From Tottenham Hotspur

Meanwhile, Spurs welcomed back James Maddison against Leeds United. The  midfielder spent a long period recovering from an ACL injury.

The Englishman came off the bench late in the game. He later called out the refereeing decision after a challenge from Lukas Nmecha was not given as a penalty.

The midfielder is unlikely to start because he only recently returned to action. But, his comeback remains a huge boost for his side before the derby.

Palmer will once again carry his side’s creative role in attack. Although, the young midfielder has not been able to show his best football throughout the campaign. However, he still remains his team’s biggest attacking threat heading into big games like this.

The forward could become Tottenham’s main man against the west London club. This comes because of his movement, intent and experience in high-pressure matches. Chelsea’s defenders will need to stay alert whenever the striker attacks inside the penalty area.
