Man Utd join Liverpool and Chelsea in race for Jarrod Bowen amid £100m West Ham fire sale
West Ham on the brink being relegated from the Premier League and a host of clubs are lining up bids for captain Jarrod Bowen with the knowledge that Irons could be forced to sell players

Manchester United want to sign Jarrod Bowen, joining rivals Liverpool and Chelsea in the race to sign him from at-risk West Ham. Bowen, 29, is set be available in the summer transfer window, with West Ham needing to raise more than £100million in player sales if they’re relegated.
The Irons are two points from safety and will go down if Tottenham beat Everton on Sunday afternoon regardless of their result against Leeds. Despite West Ham’s struggles, Bowen has scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists as captain of the sinking ship.
The forward will also be hoping to receive a call-up to the England squad for the World Cup on Friday. Liverpool have long been tipped to sign him as a replacement for Mo Salah, who’ll leave Anfield this summer, while Chelsea have emerged as potential suitors.
Now United have entered the race. The Guardian report that United are lining up a move, as they look to strengthen their attack ahead of their return to the Champions League.

It’s added that the Red Devils regard Bowen’s versatility as a big plus. The ex-Hull City star can play as either a striker or right winger, having hit double figures for goals in five of his six full seasons at West Ham.
Chelsea would also like to add competition on the right flank. Bowen is under contract until 2030 but West Ham will be under pressure to sell if their relegation is confirmed.
In a new interview with Sky Sports, Bowen confirmed that he won’t discuss his future until after the season finishes. “I’ve done it since I’ve been at Hull,” he explained.
“I sit down at the end of every season and think, what’s best for me? What do I feel? What’s my gut feeling? And then make a decision and go with it there.”

Although he’s desperate to go to the World Cup, survival is his only priority for now. “It’s probably one of the biggest weeks in my career,” Bowen added.
“So it would be wrong for me to start looking past into the next few weeks and start putting my energy elsewhere. I love this club. I have a lot of care for this club. So I want to put all my energy into this week.
“A lot of stuff gets printed. That’s what happens in social media and in newspapers these days. A lot of false things get put out there. When there’s time to speak and time to address different things, then it will come from me because that’s how I work.
“I’m quite honest. I’m quite open. I’ll always address different sorts of things. But for me now, my energy has to be into this week. There’s no other way.”
