Chelsea fans have been left frustrated by the inclusion of Liam Delap in their line-up to face Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge. The Blues lock horns with London rivals Spurs in what is a crucial Premier League clash for both teams.

Calum McFarlane’s Chelsea suffered a 1-0 loss in the FA Cup final against Manchester City on Saturday. Prior to that game at Wembley, they secured a 1-1 draw away from home against Liverpool. Notably, that result put an end to their six-game losing streak in the Premier League.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have found some much-needed form under Roberto De Zerbi in recent weeks. Spurs have been battling relegation but finally have some breathing space at the bottom of the table, thanks to two wins in their last three games.

Ahead of what promises to be an intriguing derby clash, the Chelsea fans are concerned about Delap leading their attack. Expressing his disappointment, one fan wrote:

“I didn’t buy a TV to watch Liam Rory Delap start games for my club.”

Another supporter called the decision a madness:

“Delap starting in a must win game is madness.”

@elak_SF added:

“Y’all complaining about Delap in the line up like we fighting for league or UEFA spot. We playing for nothing. Let him enjoy his last game for us because I don’t want to see him next season. And those coaches should know that Palmer best position is 10 and not wing.”

@TheMahleek posted a few laughing emojis next to Delap’s name:

“😂😂😂😂😂 DELAP”

Chelsea could move up to eighth-place in the Premier League table, if they can beat Tottenham in this game.

Joao Pedro missing from Chelsea squad for Spurs clash after Brazil snub

Joao Pedro is nowhere to be seen in the matchday squad to face Tottenham. On Monday, Pedro was left out of the 26-man Brazil squad for the 2026 World Cup under Carlo Ancelotti.

Pedro expressed his disappointment, but extended his support to the national team at this summer’s tournament. Shortly after the snub from his national team, Chelsea announced that Pedro has won the club’s player of the season award.

The 24-year-old secured 60 per cent of the votes and finished ahead of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo to become the recipient of the honour.

Recent reports suggest that Pedro is keen on joining Barcelona. The LaLiga champions recently held a meeting with his agents in London. However, it remains to be seen whether the Blues let go of a prized asset like Pedro.
