Axel Disasi’s fate sealed as report shares the next step for West Ham loanee

Axel Disasi, at least, can look back on his brief spell at West Ham United with a degree of personal pride.

They say never fall in love with a loan player, but we’ve all done it before 😂

Disasi bought into life at the London Stadium right from day one, and repaid the faith shown in him by Nuno Espirito Santo with a series of commanding performances at the heart of a backline greatly improved by his presence.

Disasi proved to be the perfect foil for Konstantinos Mavropanos – the club’s newly-crowned Player of the Year – while six of their seven clean sheets came with him in the XI.

Axel Disasi has no future at West Ham United or Chelsea

It should come as little surprise then that, according to French publication Foot Mercato, interested parties are already queuing up to make their interest known.

West Ham made it clear early on that Chelsea would not get back the £38 million they paid to sign Disasi from Monaco in 2023. Further reports indicated that the Blues would look to recoup around £20 million.

A fee that, had the Hammers survived at Tottenham’s expense, would likely have made a permanent transfer possible. Foot Mercato say that relegation ‘completely changes the situation’, however.

Relegation confirmed – where do West Ham go from here?

A number of interested clubs are making enquiries already. Chelsea are therefore set to be the beneficiaries of their forgotten man’s London Stadium revival; a summer sale deemed ‘very likely’ and a bidding war potentially on the cards.

The report does not say which clubs are in the mix.

AC Milan were extremely keen on Disasi in the winter, though, and could move again. A host of Premier League sides in need of defensive reinforcements may also feel that they could do a whole lot worse.
