SAKA SENDS US TO BUDAPEST

Having become the first team to finish the league phase with eight wins from eight, we earned home advantage in the deciding game throughout the knockout stages, and we made it count to reach our second-ever Champions League final. After a 1-1 draw back in Madrid, this time against Real’s city rivals Atletico, the stage was set for the biggest game in Emirates Stadium’s 20-year history as we hosted the semi-final second leg.
With decibel levels hitting new heights in N5, the efforts were rewarded when, in the 44th minute, Viktor Gyokeres’ cross found Trossard at the back post. The Belgian took his time to find the space for a shot, but it proved pivotal as his low effort was well saved by Jan Oblak, but smart movement from Saka saw him sneak in front of two Atleti defenders and prod the rebound into the net.
Some excellent defensive shifts saw us get over the line, with a crucial tackle by Gabriel preventing Giuliano Simeone from tapping into an empty net, while Raya refused to be beaten. Backed by deafening support throughout, we got over the line to book our spot in the final in Budapest.
