The 2025/26 season was one for the record books, and our friends at OPTA have been hard at work laying out some incredible facts from the past 10 months of competition.

Our season began on August 17, 2025 at Old Trafford, and ended on May 30, in Budapest. Ending the season as Premier League champions, we’ve taken a look at some of the best factoids from each month, as well as some incredible details from the season as a whole!

AUGUST

We kicked off our 100th consecutive season in the top flight with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United. It was our sixth victory at Old Trafford in Premier League history – every single win has been to a 1-0 scoreline (1998, 2002, 2006, 2020, 2024 and 2025).

Coming on against Leeds United, Max Dowman (15y 235d) became just the third player to appear in a Premier League game before turning 16 years old after teammate Ethan Nwaneri v Brentford in September 2022 (15y 181d) and Jeremy Monga for Leicester City v Newcastle United in April (15y 271d).

SEPTEMBER

We become the first side in the history of the European Cup to win six consecutive matches against Spanish sides when defeating Athletic Club 2-0 in Bilbao.

Our late win over Newcastle was the second-latest that we have trailed in a Premier League game and gone on to win (equalised in 84th minute), after a 3-1 win over Norwich City in April 2013, when the equalising goal was converted by Mikel Arteta in the 85th minute.

Timed at 95:45, Gabriel’s winner at Newcastle was our second-latest winning goal in a Premier League away game on record (since 2003/04), only behind Declan Rice’s winner at Luton in December 2023 (96:23).

OCTOBER

Bukayo Saka’s goal against Olympiacos was the fifth game in a row that a substitute scored for us. This is just the second time we’d achieved this in our history, with the previous occasion coming between August and September 2004.

Bukayo Saka became the seventh youngest player to reach 100 goal involvements in the Premier League (24y 29d), and the youngest overall in the competition since Romelu Lukaku in February 2017 (23y 267d).

Our 4-0 win over Atletico Madrid secured a third Champions League win in a row without conceding for the first time since October 2007.

We registered our 700th Premier League victory (beating Palace 1-0), becoming just the second side to hit that milestone, along with Manchester United.

NOVEMBER

Max Dowman, aged 15 years and 302 days old, was named as our youngest ever player to start a competitive match in our 2-0 win over Brighton in the Carabao Cup.

Our 3-0 win over Slavia Prague was our eighth consecutive victory to nil, becoming just the third English top-flight side in history to achieve this feat after Preston in 1889 and Liverpool in 1920. This sequence also saw us enjoy our longest winning run under Mikel Arteta (10 games) and equal a club record eight successive shutouts from 1903.

Eberechi Eze scored the first North London derby hat-trick for nearly 50 years, since Alan Sunderland in 1978. It was only the fourth time the matchball had ever been claimed in this fixture.

DECEMBER

Yerson Mosquera putting through his own net was the 18th 90th-minute winning own goal in Premier League history. 33% of these have been for an Arsenal win (6/18), with two now against Wolves at the Emirates Stadium (also Jose Sa in February 2022).

2025/26 was the fifth season we sat top of the Premier League table on Christmas Day (also in 2002/03, 2007/08, 2022/23 & 2023/24) thanks to our win over Everton.

We became just the second team to score 20+ set-piece goals (ex. penalties) in consecutive years in the Premier League (21 in 2024, 20 in 2025), after Wimbledon between 1993 and 1996.

JANUARY

Our record-breaking run of not conceding 3+ goals in a game ended with a 3-2 loss to Manchester United. The run stretches to 121 games; no side in English football history has gone longer.

Following wins at Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Chelsea, Inter and Leeds in January 2026, we won five away games across all competitions in a single month for just the second time in our history, with the previous instance coming in April 2000 (that run also included a 4-0 win at Elland Road).

During our 4-1 win over Portsmouth in the FA Cup, Marli Salmon became our youngest-ever player to feature in the competition, aged 16 years and 135 days.

Our win over Kairat was the first time we have named an entirely different starting XI to the previous game since doing so against Dundalk in the Europa League back in December 2020.

FEBRUARY

The 4-1 win at Tottenham in February was our biggest away league derby day win since a 5-0 victory in December 1978. This is the second season in which we won both league meetings with Spurs by 3+ goals, after the 1934/35 campaign.

We also became just the second team to win four consecutive away games against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, after Manchester United (six, September 2001-February 2007).

Ebere Eze became the first player to score five or more goals against an opponent in the same Premier League season for us since Emmanuel Adebayor vs Derby in 2007/08 (6).

We became the first Premier League side ever to score four goals in the opening 30 minutes of an FA Cup clash during our 4-0 victory over Wigan Athletic.

MARCH

During our win over Mansfield Town, Jaden Dixon became our 14th debutant for the campaign. Only in 1919/20 have we had more players make their debut (15).

Max Dowman became the youngest player to score a Premier League goal when he netted against Everton aged 16 years and 73 days, and the youngest scorer in our history.

Eberechi Eze became just the second English player to score for us in the Premier League, League Cup, FA Cup and Champions League in the same season, after Theo Walcott in 2012/13.

Our win over Chelsea was the ninth time in the Premier League in 25/26 that we have scored a match-winning goal from a corner, now the outright most by a team in a single campaign (overtaking Manchester United’s eight in 2012/13).

APRIL

Since the start of the 2022/23 season, Eberechi Eze has scored more goals from outside the box than any other player in the Premier League (10), with his latest coming in the 1-0 win over Newcastle United.

Kai Havertz winner against Sporting CP was our eighth winning goal in stoppage time in our Champions League history.

Declan Rice completed 83 passes against Atletico Madrid in April, the second-most by an English midfielder in a UEFA Champions League semi-final on record (since 2003/04), after Michael Carrick in April 2011 (99 v FC Schalke 04). Rice also made the most line-breaking passes (12) of any player.

MAY

We extended the longest unbeaten home record for any side against another in English football league history (P33 W26 D7), winning 13 of our 19 Premier League home games against Fulham.

Half of our outfield starters for the game v Atletico were English players (5). This was the most Englishmen named in a Gunners starting XI in the Champions League since December 2009 (v Olympiacos – Walcott, Wilshere, Bartley, Cruise, Gilbert).

Our goal against West Ham was timed at 82 minutes and six seconds, our latest opening goal in a 1-0 Premier League win since November 2023 against Brentford (Kai Havertz in 89th minute).

Our 1-0 win over Burnley was our 11th by the scoreline during the season – our highest number of 1-0 wins in a season since 1993/94.

Max Dowman (16y 144d) became the youngest ever player to start a Premier League match in our 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.

Kai Havertz became just the third player to score for two different teams in a Champions League final (previously for Chelsea), after Cristiano Ronaldo (Man Utd, Real Madrid) and Mario Mandzukic (Juventus, Bayern Munich).

SEASONAL STATS

We played 63 of a possible 65 games across the four competitions we competed in, more games than any other big five European league side in 2025/26. Only in 1979/80 (70) and 1970/71 (64) have we played more matches in a single campaign.

Our 1-0 win at West Ham in May was our 42nd victory of the season and saw us break our club record for wins in a single campaign, which had stood for 55 years. Meanwhile, the only big five European league side to claim more victories than us across the season was Bayern Munich.

We finished the season with 44 wins from our 63 games, posting a win % of 70%, the highest in our club’s history.

With 57 appearances, Martin Zubimendi now holds the record for the highest number of appearances in a debut season in our entire history, taking the record from Pat Jennings, which he had held since 1977-78 (55 games).

We scored a total of 36 set pieces (excluding penalties) throughout the season, with 27 coming from corners – more than any other side across Europe’s top five leagues in 2025-26.

A total of 27 of our 36 set-piece goals helped us draw level in a match (4) or put us one goal ahead (23) – the most of any big five European league team.

We had a combined 40 goals (24) and assists (16) from substitutes in 2025/26, with only Bayern Munich having more among big five European league sides. The total of 24 goals is the most we’ve had in a single season in our history.

We used 31 different players in 2025/26, one fewer than last season. We had as many as nine players reach 50 games for the first time since 1979/80.

We kept 32 clean sheets this season, six more than any other side in Europe’s big-five leagues in all competitions. Only in 1970/71 (37) and 1979/80 (33) have we had more in a single season.
