Kai Havertz continued his fine end-of-season form by picking up a goal and an assist in Germany’s final World Cup warm-up clash against the USA.
Our forward headed home from close range after just two minutes at Soldier Field against one of the three host nations of this summer’s finals.
USA equalised through Fulham full-back Antonee Robinson’s fine effort, but Germany found a winner as Kai assisted Leroy Sane on 57 minutes.
Havertz was substituted after 61 minutes as the Germans now prepare for their opening group match against Curacao on Sunday, June 14, in Houston.
TROSSARD AGAIN OLE OLE
It was a busy night of fixtures for our stars as they get into World Cup mode and another one of our players finding the net was Leandro Trossard.
Leo pounced on a rebound to open the scoring after 28 minutes against Tunisia at the Stade Roi Baudouin, in Brussels.
Our winger played 74 minutes as goals from Charles De Ketelaere, Kevin De Bruyne, Dodi Lukébakio and Nicolas Raskin provided the perfect send-off for the Red Devils.
Trossard’s Belgium will next be in action on Monday, June 15, taking on Egypt in their World Cup opener in Seattle.

Every Arsenal player called up for 2026 World Cup

One country already in the United States are Brazil and they warmed up for the World Cup with a 2-1 victory over Egypt at Huntington Bank Field, in Cleveland.
Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes and Real Madrid Endrick got the goals before Gabriel Martinelli was introduced by Carlo Ancelotti on 71 minutes for Raphinha.

England were also in action stateside, winning 1-0 against New Zealand in Florida courtesy of Harry Kane’s first-half goal. Our quartet of Three Lions, Eberechi Eze, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke, weren’t involved in the clash, with Ethan Nwaneri, who was selected as part of the warm-up squad, an unused substitute.
Thomas Tuchel’s side finish their preparations with a friendly against Costa Rica on Wednesday, June 10, in Florida.
