All the latest Chelsea transfer news in one place, including updates on Nicolas Jackson, Mika Godts and Anthony Gordon.
Bayern Munich confirm Jackson decision
Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed they will not activate the €65 million buy clause included in Nicolas Jackson’s loan deal.
The Senegal international joined Bayern on a temporary deal for the 2025-26 season, after falling out of favour at Chelsea, with Vincent Kompany’s side paying a fee of €16.5m to secure his signature for the campaign.
The agreement also included an option to make the transfer permanent for €65m, but Eberl confirmed that Jackson would be returning to Chelsea after his loan spell.
Eberl told ZDF (via Sky Germany): “We will not trigger the option for Nicolas Jackson.”
Iraola Keen is a Chelsea job
Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola is keen on becoming the new Chelsea manager, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues are once again in the market for a new permanent manager following the sacking of Liam Rosenior on Wednesday and they have shortlisted a number of potential options for the role, including Irola.
The Cherries boss had initially been expected to become the new Athletic Club manager, following his lengthy spell with the Spanish outfit as a player, but Edin Terzic has agreed to take the role instead and a move to Chelsea could therefore be on the cards instead, as confirmed by Romano.
“Iraola would be more than happy to continue in the Premier League,” the transfer expert revealed on YouTube. “Iraola would be keen on the possibility of becoming the new Chelsea manager. But, at the moment, Chelsea are still in the early stages. They want to take their time and decide who the ideal candidate is.
“There is still nothing advanced or done with Iraola.”
Chelsea eye new Eden Hazard
Arsenal and Chelsea are said to have been left in awe after watching a player dubbed the ‘new Eden Hazard’ who is set to make a big money transfer this summer.
Scouts from a number of Premier League sides were understood to have been at Ajax’s 2-0 win over NAC Breda this weekend in which winger Mika Godts scored a contender for goal of the season with an individual piece of brilliance.
Godts has been a standout performer for Ajax this season and the Dutch side are believed to have already started exploring their options over a replacement amid strong interest from Europe’s top sides.
According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea scouts were present at the match, having tracked the Belgian closely in recent months, with Godts emerging as a ‘serious candidate’ to be targeted in the summer after ‘stunning’ scouts.
Chelsea handed Gordon boost
Chelsea have been handed a boost in their reported pursuit of Anthony Gordon following reports that Newcastle United have rekindled their interest in Nicolas Jackson.
A new left winger has been earmarked as one of Chelsea’s priorities for this summer and, according to a report from TEAMtalk, Gordon is among the club’s targets.
Meanwhile, a number of teams across Europe are likely to be interested in Jackson and talkSPORT have revealed that Newcastle are already keen to secure his signature, having failed to sign him last year.
Therefore, Chelsea could feasibly use Jackson in a swap bid for Gordon in order to reduce their potential outlay on the England star.
