England v Norway Predicted Lineups for World Cup Quarterfinal as Haaland Faces Kane

England are set for a monumental clash with a dangerous Norway outfit in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup. With Harry Kane and Erling Haaland set to do battle in a titanic tussle, we have put together our predicted lineups for England vs Norway.

We aren’t expecting too many changes between the two teams. While they each put in a monumental effort to make it beyond Brazil and Mexico in the last 16 (respectively), they’ll also have the benefit of a five-day rest period.

Who would make it into your England squad to face Norway? As always, this isn’t who we would necessarily pick – we’re looking at who we think their respective managers might pick.

Norway

GK: Ørjan Nyland

Having started in almost every game for Norway at the World Cup thus far, we can’t see any reason as to why Orjan Nyland would be dropped at this juncture. The only game he failed to play in was their dead rubber against France in the final game of Group I.

RB: Julian Ryerson

Julian Ryerson is amongst Norway’s best players. An excellent attacking full-back, you can certainly expect him to keep his spot against England.

CB: Kristoffer Ajer

Commanding centre-back Kristoffer Ajer has been a dominant force at the back for Norway in the World Cup thus far. A true leader, they can’t afford to drop him in such an important game.

CB: Torbjørn Heggem

Another almost ever-present player for Norway, Torbjorn Heggem and Ajer have developed a formidable centre-back partnership at the tournament.

LB: David Møller Wolfe

David Moller Wolfe might have been relegated to the Championship last season with Wolves, but he has been having a decent World Cup so far. He is, however, perhaps one of their weak links.

DM: Sander Berge

Fulham star Sander Berge is a colossus in the holding role. Using his size and underrated technical ability to great use, we’re expecting to see a fascinating battle between him and Jude Bellingham.

CM: Martin Odegaard

Norway’s captain, Martin Odegaard, is an absolute sure-fire starter against England. He has become a real midfield general in recent years – can he overcome Arsenal teammate Declan Rice in the middle of the park.

CM: Patrick Berg

Bodo/Glimt had a magical run in the Champions League – now, with his national team, Patrick Berg is having a similarly brilliant tournament at the World Cup.

RW: Oscar Bobb

Usually, Alexander Sorloth starts for Norway, but we think it might be Oscar Bobb’s time to shine. With his magnetic ball control, he could give Nico O’Reilly all kinds of issues down the right.

LW: Antonio Nusa

Antonio Nusa was brought off at half-time against Brazil after having a lacklustre game, but he still remains one of Norway’s most dangerous attacking outlets.

ST: Erling Haaland

You all knew this was coming. Erling Haaland may well be the best striker in the world – with seven goals in four games at the tournament so far, it is a difficult point to argue.
