Man Utd in talks over ‘next No1 target’ away from midfield with £85m pair joining first
Manchester United are close to signing both Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Atalanta star Ederson – and they also have their sights set on a Premier League star
Manchester United continue to be linked with a move for West Ham star Crysencio Summerville as the Red Devils push ahead with strengthening their midfield options. United look set to have a busy summer transfer window and are on the verge of adding reinforcements to their squad.
United have agreed a £50million deal to sign Andrey Santos from Chelsea, who is expected to become the first new addition to the squad since Michael Carrick was appointed manager on a permanent basis.
Atalanta star Ederson is also expected to move to United, with a deal already agreed to bring the Brazilian to Old Trafford for £35 million, with the potential for £3.8 million more in add-ons.
Now, it seems United are also looking to strengthen their forward options, with Summerville still linked to Old Trafford. According to Sky Sports, United have identified Summerville as their number one target to strengthen their forward line and have already held initial talks with the Hammers over a potential deal to bring the Netherlands international to Manchester.
Summerville’s future at West Ham has been the subject of speculation ever since the club were relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season.
The forward is currently on his summer break following his participation at the World Cup with the Netherlands, who were knocked out by Morocco in the round-of-32 stage.United have shown interest in signing Summerville for some time, and speculation suggests Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race for the 24-year-old winger.
It has been suggested that United could step up their pursuit of Summerville once they complete the signings of Santos and Ederson.
