Fabrizio Romano confirms Chelsea star ‘can leave’ after Andrey Santos
Xabi Alonso may have only been manager since the start of the month, but Chelsea have already made lots of changes, and they don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
Marc Cucurella and Tyrique George have already left Stamford Bridge to join Real Madrid and Everton, respectively.
Andrey Santos is set to be the third exit with the Brazilian undergoing a medical at Manchester United following a £50 million agreement.

Chelsea happy to sell fourth player
Alejandro Garnacho has endured a nightmare first year in west London.
The 22-year-old joined from Manchester United last summer but flopped massively in his first season at Stamford Bridge, scoring just once in the Premier League.
It hasn’t just been his on field performances that have left Chelsea bemused. His social media activity has seen his attitude continually questioned.
And Alonso is clearly not prepared to waste anymore time on the disappointing Argentine because according to Fabrizio Romano, the Spaniard is happy to let the 22-year-old go.
“Alejandro Garnacho can leave Chelsea this summer and he’s not untouchable,” Romano posted on X.
“In case of good proposal on permanent deal, CFC ready to open doors to exit with initial movements started in terms of clubs keen.
“Garnacho can leave after just one season at Chelsea.”
Where next for Alejandro Garnacho?
Despite his form falling off a cliff, Garnacho hasn’t been short of suitors.
Reports earlier in the year claimed River Plate would bring him to Argentina on loan, but it seems Chelsea are more interested in a permanent deal.
And more recent reports have named Napoli as a potential destination with the Italians having great success with Premier League players such as fan-favourite Scott McTominay who made the move to Naples two years ago.
There could also be emerging interest from Saudi clubs, but it remains unknown how the former Manchester United winger feels about leaving Europe at this stage of his career.
Either way, the Blues are unlikely to recoup the full £40 million they paid for Garnacho. His market value has nose dived over the last 12 months and Manchester United will be entitled to 10 per cent of any transfer fee.
Garnacho does earn £137,500-per week though, so a sale would still free up valuable funds that Alonso will certainly push to have reinvested. (edited)
