Chelsea need to ‘be careful’ as Brighton could snatch transfer
Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion are lining up a potential battle for Atalanta’s Honest Ahanor this summer.
On June 25th, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy of Brighton talks for the 18-year-old and Inter Milan’s Davide Frattesi. The Seagulls are keen on the two players, who share the same agent.
Chelsea have now joined their Premier League rivals to show interest in Ahanor.

On July 1st, Xabi Alonso’s side completed the signing of Marco Palestra from Atalanta.
The west London club are again looking at the Serie A side, this time for Honest Ahanor. That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who covers the latest on the Blues and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Chelsea are pursuing the centre-back, who joined La Dea from Genoa for a reported fee of €16m plus €4m bonuses in July 2025.
He played 1,902 minutes from 35 matches for Atalanta last season and his displays helped him debut for Italy during the friendlies against Luxembourg and Greece in June.
Ahanor’s development had already caught the attention of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest. Fabian Hürzeler’s side and the Stamford Bridge club are now added to his suitors list.
Blues told be cautious about Brighton
TMW claims Chelsea must ‘be careful’ about other Premier League sides and this is when Brighton & Hove Albion get a mention.
The Seagulls have already signed Pascal Struijk and Michael Svoboda from Leeds United and Venezia respectively. Recent claims from elsewhere have covered their interest in Tottenham Hotspur’s Luka Vušković.
Brighton are also looking at Honest Ahanor, a player pursued by Chelsea.

The Atalanta player has two years left on his contract, and Transfermarkt value him at €30m.
