Every Premier League club’s priciest signing as a new wave of records tumbles
Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have splashed the cash so far this summer, becoming the first Premier League teams to break their transfer records in the current window.
City have signed Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for a hug £116m fee, while Spurs have shattered their club record twice this summer, first for Mateus Fernandes, before surpassing that sum to sign Sandro Tonali.
The pair are unlikely to be the last Premier League clubs to break their transfer records, as English clubs continue to invest extraordinary sums.
Coventry City and Hull City, back in the Premier League after promotion, are sure to eclipse their current marks in a bid for survival.
Manchester United, meanwhile, have gone the longest time since breaking their club record. United last broke their transfer record a decade ago, when signing Paul Pogba from Juventus in 2016.
Interestingly, Georginio Rutter and Omari Hutchinson reach remain the record signing for two current Premier League clubs.
