FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours and gossip from 12 July, including the latest updates on Bradley Barcola, Ferran Torres and Vinicius Jr.

Article continues under the video

Barcola deal hinges on Torres

PSG’s pursuit of Barcelona forward Ferran Torres is directly linked to the future of Bradley Barcola, as per The Team.

Reports have suggested that an agreement on personal terms is already in place with the Spain international. However, PSG will only complete the deal once they have finalised offensive outgoings.

This could open the door for Barcola to leave. The Frenchman is stalling on signing a new contract, and it is well-documented that Arsenal and Liverpool want to sign him this summer.

Vinicius Jr deal close

Real Madrid are closing in on a contract agreement with Vinicius Jr, AS reports.

Fresh contact between the two parties has taken place following Brazil’s exit from the World Cup, and both sides reiterated their desire to continue their collaboration beyond 2027.

Real Madrid are no longer concerned about the situation and expect a breakthrough imminently. Nevertheless, the club have reiterated that they want a final decision from Vinicius before the end of the summer.

Roma in talks over double deal with BlueCo

AS Roma are holding talks over deals for Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho and Strasbourg star Diego Moreira, according to Di Marzio.

The Serie A giants have explored a move for Garnacho, but a deal is currently deemed unlikely. Fabrizio Romano understands that Chelsea will only consider permanent offers in the region of €50 million, while Roma would prefer a loan.

A deal for Moreira appears more realistic. It is claimed that Roma are preparing a €30m bid for the Belgium international, who is understood to be keen to leave Strasbourg this summer.

Guimaraes surprise

Newcastle are “flabbergasted” by the Bruno Guimaraes transfer saga, Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie states.

Despite all the speculation, Arsenal have yet to actually make contact with Newcastle. There have been no club-to-club discussions, with all talks to date only carried out by intermediaries.

It is true that Guimaraes has directly informed Newcastle of his desire to join Arsenal, but he is not forcefully agitating for a transfer. He is understanding of the fact that his club will only sell at the right price, which means that he could cost up to €100m.

Man Utd’s Ederson alternatives

Man Utd are exploring deals for alternatives after deciding to pull the plug on their deal to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson.

Gazzetta dello Sport understands that the Red Devils have made contact with Roma midfielder Manu Kone, who is available for a fee in excess of €50m this summer.

Globo Esportemeanwhile, writes that Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes is also being courted again. The Brazilian is a long-standing target and can still be signed following the collapse of his proposed transfer to Atletico Madrid.
