Three strikers Chelsea could sign after Xabi Alonso shares concern
Chelsea currently have Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Marc Guiu, Emmanuel Emegha and Nicolas Jackson as options for the centre-forward position.
Three of those names could be enough for the new season, so Chelsea signing a new striker really does not need to be a priority.
Yet it has been claimed that Xabi Alonso still thinks Chelsea may need a new centre-forward, showing his concerns about his current options.
With that in mind, The Chelsea Chronicle has looked at a few names that the club could make a move for this summer.
Nicolas Jackson or Liam Delap, which one are you keeping? Tell us who and why!
Dusan Vlahovic
Chelsea supporters are probably sick of hearing Dusan Vlahovic’s name, but the Serbian is once again being linked with a switch to west London.
Last month, it was claimed that Chelsea are leading the race for Vlahovic, who is now a free agent after leaving Juventus.
His status as a free agent and record in Serie A make him a centre-forward worth considering, but his wages and injury history could be a problem.

Nick Woltemade
Nick Woltemade is another forward who has been linked with a move to Chelsea on more than one occasion.
Chelsea are reportedly interested in Woltemade again after looking at him before his transfer from Stuttgart to Newcastle United last year.
He was in and out of Eddie Howe’s team during the 2025/26 season so could be available. At times, it looked like Howe did not know what to do with him.
At 24, Woltemade is still quite young. He has a lot of potential and is pretty versatile, being able to play as a striker or behind one. The German ticks a lot of boxes for Chelsea.
Ollie Watkins
Ollie Watkins does not fit Chelsea’s transfer strategy, with the Aston Villa star now 30. However, the Blues are prepared to alter their policy a bit during this transfer window, and it has been said that Watkins is someone who has been considered by Chelsea.
Watkins has a very good goal record in the Premier League, so if Alonso really does think Chelsea need a new centre-forward, he should be at the top of the list.
