The summer transfer window is beginning to gather serious momentum and several blockbuster deals are on the verge of being announced by the biggest clubs in Europe.

The likes of Sandro Tonali, Marc Cucurella and Elliot Anderson have already completed big-money moves so far this summer, and a number of other high-profile stars are close to securing transfers before the start of the 2026-27 campaign.

Below, FootballTransfers runs through five transfers that are set to be completed before the end of this week.

Youri Tielemans to Man Utd

Man Utd have reached a full agreement to sign Aston Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans after triggering his €41 million (£35m) release clause.

The 29-year-old has given his priority to the Red Devils and it’s understood that he is set to be formally announced as a Man Utd player shortly, with the Belgium international on the verge of leaving Villa after a hugely successful three-year stint at the club.

Unai Emery’s side are unsurprisingly desperate to keep Tielemans, but they are powerless to prevent a deal due to a release clause in his current contract, and a move will be finalised soon.

Leandro Trossard to Besiktas

Arsenal agreed a €20m fee with Besiktas for the sale of Leandro Trossard in early July and the Belgium star is now on the verge of finalising personal terms.

Trossard has been a pivotal player for Arsenal since his arrival at the club, but he is now 31 years old and the Gunners have moved quickly to offload him amid significant interest in Morgan Rogers, Christos Tzolis and Bradley Barcola.

It’s understood that Besiktas are set to pay Trossard an annual salary of €7m and a full agreement is extremely close to being reached.

Johan Manzambi to Aston Villa

Johan Manzambi looked set to join Newcastle United following his exploits for Switzerland at the World Cup, but history has repeated itself, with the Magpies once again seeing a proposed transfer hijacked by one of their Premier League rivals.

This time it is Aston Villa who have ruined their transfer plans, with a deal in excess of €60m agreed to sign Manzambi ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

The Freiburg star is set to become Villa’s all-time record signing, and he will add goals and creativity to Unai Emery’s midfield unit.

Karim Adeyemi to Barcelona

After rejecting the chance to sign Marcus Rashford following his loan spell at the club, Barcelona quickly finalised a deal for Anthony Gordon and they are now set to purchase Karim Adeyemi too.

A full agreement has been reached on a €22m deal and Adeyemi is set to be unveiled by the Blaugrana shortly, with president Joan Laporta confirming that a deal has been completed.

“We are very excited about Adeyemi,” he said. “We’ve liked him for a while. He’s dangerous and fast, and Deco handled the signing very well. The news came out when it was meant to.”

Pep Chavarria to Chelsea

Chelsea have lodged a third offer for Rayo Vallecano left-back Pep Chavarria and it’s understood that a deal is close to being fully agreed.

The Spaniard already has a full agreement on personal terms with the Blues and he is desperate to join the club, with new boss Xabi Alonso believed to be a driving factor behind the transfer.

Rayo Vallecano are yet to accept a sale, although this deal appears to be heading in only one direction and the end result will be Chavarria holding up a Chelsea shirt at Stamford Bridge.
