Roma launch loan-to-buy bid for Chelsea’s Garnacho but Blues seek permanent sale
Chelsea are willing to entertain offers for Garnacho this summer, just 12 months on from his arrival from Manchester United.
Garnacho made 22 starts last season across all competitions, and registered eight goals and four assists. Despite that, Chelsea are willing to sanction his sale if their £42.7m valuation is met. The Blues paid £40m to sign Garnacho last summer.
He is one of several options that Roma are considering this summer, as the Italian side prepare to return to the Champions League next season after a eight-year absence. Roma are also among the clubs considering West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville.
Garnacho could be one of several sales for Chelsea this summer as the West Londoners rebuild under new head coach Xabi Alonso.
Marc Cucurella, Tyrique George and Andrey Santos have all departed on permanent deals, while Trevoh Chalobah has interest from Como and Inter Milan.
Chelsea have brought in Marco Palestra from Atalanta in a £47m transfer, with the right-back becoming Alonso’s first signing. Geovany Quenda’s pre-agreed move from Sporting CP has also been finalised.
