From Egypt: Mohamed Salah has Chelsea preference after leaving Liverpool

Mohamed Salah can surprise everyone and continue in the Premier League by joining Chelsea this summer, following the expiry of his Liverpool contract.

The Egypt international first arrived in England when Chelsea signed him from FC Basel in January 2013.

He struggled at Stamford Bridge, managing two goals and three assists from 19 matches. After two loans spells, the Blues sold him to AS Roma in 2016.

A year later, the forward returned to the Premier League to join Liverpool and turned himself into a superstar at Anfield.

Salah, who managed 257 goals and 123 assists from 442 matches for the Reds, is yet to choose a new club since leaving Liverpool.

Chelsea top choice for Salah

Egyptian journalist Ahmed Darwish, relayed by Al-Horia, has talked about the 34-year-old’s options this summer.

He claims Chelsea are the only English club that could convince Salah to continue in the Premier League.

Any offer from Xabi Alonso’s side would be the ‘top choice’ for Mohamed Salah, if he were to stay in England. There’s no indication Chelsea have made a move.

Last month, Sport Witness relayed news that Al-Hilal have made him their main target and are willing to offer a three-year contract worth €20m per year.

Liverpool hero attracting Turkey interest

Ahmed Darwish now claims a move to Saudi Arabia is no longer lucrative enough when compared to other offers.

Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş are all fighting to sign Mohamed Salah before the start of the season and all three have made ‘strong offers’.

Over in Italy, Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti has expressed his desire to sign the player.

There are multiple options on the table for Salah and it’s now a case of choosing.
