West Ham also clarified Summerville’s release clause in another Hammers News exclusive.

But West Ham won’t be getting mega bucks Saudi money for Summerville for two different reasons.

Hammers News has already revealed that Summerville has a relegation release clause in his contract which means West Ham have to listen to any offers over the £50m mark – nearly twice what the club paid Leeds for the 24-year-old.

The top source at West Ham previously stated that there are ‘specific details’ in Summerville’s ‘complicated’ clause which are ‘confidential’.

But the club made it clear in ‘reality it is £50m’.

While that does not strictly limit West Ham to selling Summerville for £50m, clubs are not going to offer much more than that as they only need to hit the figure in the clause to then have the chance to speak with the player and his representatives.

That is why the Hammers won’t be getting a ridiculous bid from Saudi to see off the opposition.

It would then come down to where Summerville wants to go.

And that is where the second element which will dictate West Ham won’t be getting Saudi cash comes in.

Because Hammers News understands the player has no interest in going to the Saudi Pro League at this age and wants to continue playing in one of Europe’s top leagues, preferably in the Champions League and – by choice – Manchester United.

Summerville is also deeply religious and Hammers News understands that too could come into the Dutchman’s thinking if he was given a decision to make over Saudi.
