Alejandro Garnacho and six other Chelsea transfers Xabi Alonso is working to complete

The latest transfer news coming out of Stamford Bridge with the World Cup close to its conclusion and business between clubs set to intensify in the weeks following

Chelsea are hopeful Alejandro Garnacho will be shipped off in the coming weeks with the Blues looking to make a profit on the Argentine winger this summer.

The west Londoners, football.london understands, are demanding a fee in the region of £42.5million for the former Manchester United wide man after just one season at Stamford Bridge. There is mass interest in Garnacho’s signature, with clubs from England, Italy and Saudi Arabia all battling it out for the 22-year-old.

Garnacho is said to be keen on ending his Chelsea nightmare this summer as he looks to be a regular starter. The Blues have informed Garnacho they will not be able to give him such assurances after an unremarkable debut season following his £40m move from Manchester United.

Italian club AS Roma are considered the front-runners for Garnacho at the time of writing, though no agreement has been struck yet. The Rome-based outfit prefer a loan move for the Argentine, who was not selected for this summer’s World Cup, while Chelsea – as exclusively revealed earlier in the month – will only consider a permanent solution.

Garnacho is yet to report to pre-season training under new manager Xabi Alonso with the winger no longer part of the club’s future plans. Stamford Bridge insiders told football.london towards the back end of last week that the next fortnight should prove crucial in Garnacho’s future.

Elsewhere, Chelsea remain interested in Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace despite there being very few updates to report in recent weeks. The France international came on for the injured William Saliba in the first half of Les Bleus’ 2-0 World Cup semi-final defeat to Spain on Tuesday evening and will now take a few weeks to recover.

Lacroix is said to be keen on switching to Stamford Bridge from Selhurst Park with his representatives in dialogue with Chelsea over a move. The Blues, however, are yet to agree on a fee with the Eagles for the 26-year-old central defender.

Chelsea are also continuing their pursuit of Rayo Vallecano defender Pep Chavarria. Initially, this looked as if it was going to be a straightforward deal from the Blues’ perspective as Alonso looks for reinforcements in the left-back area following Marc Cucurella’s transfer to Real Madrid last month, but it has proven to be a bit more complex.

Sources say Chelsea were initially told €15m (£12.8m) would be enough to land Chavarria, who wants to move to west London, but Rayo’s asking price has since increased to €25m (£21.3m).

Filip Jorgensen is looking for a new club after he made it clear to Chelsea almost two months ago that he wishes to move on this summer. The Danish goalkeeper informed the Blues of his desire to leave in a face-to-face meeting back in May with his wish of more regular first-team minutes.

Chelsea are planning to promote Mike Penders to compete with Robert Sanchez in Alonso’s debut season at Stamford Bridge.

Trevoh Chalobah is also expected to depart Stamford Bridge this summer. Inter Milan and Como have a serious interest in the Cobham graduate, who is free to leave should his £35m valuation be met between now and the September 1 deadline.

It’s all gone quiet on the Enzo Fernandez front ever since Real Madrid released that remarkable statement earlier in the month stating they will not be pursuing a move for the Chelsea midfielder. Alonso confirmed in his press conference earlier this week that he wants the Argentina international to remain at Stamford Bridge.

Malo Gusto has a £75m price tag on his head amid interest from Manchester City. The France international is set for a few weeks in the sunshine now following his country’s exit from the World Cup, with his agent no doubt very busy in the background in relation to his client’s future.
