Teshaun Murisa felt a draw would have been a fairer result when our under-18s lost out 3-2 to Crystal Palace in the U18 Premier League South.

Our young Gunner captained the side in a game that saw us twice take the lead before being pegged back and ultimately beaten late on.

“I think it was a game of moments today. It was pretty end-to-end and open.

“Both teams had an equal fair share of chances, but at the end of the day, it came down to the final moments.

“We had to take them and we didn’t, and they took theirs, that’s what gave them the advantage in the game today.”

Our under-18s took the lead early on when Ceadach O’Neill scored from the spot, before Louis Zecevic John restored our lead just after the interval.

The Eagles failed to be shaken off, though, and came from behind on two occasions to steal victory in north London, which Teshaun put down to communication issues at the back. “I think it’s just about all being on the same page defensively and just knowing what we’re going to do as a team to help stop them on attack.

“Hopefully, we get more goals to extend our lead in games.”

With four games of the campaign remaining, Teshaun wants to focus on a strong finish and feels that holding on to leads in games is crucial in achieving that. “I think it’s just going back into training and working on how we can protect our lead and get ahead in the first place,” he said. “Having better relationships as teammates is important so that in the game, we know what we’re doing together.”
