Chelsea reject TWO Treboh Chalobah transfer bids as Xabi Alonso waits for £30m confirmation

The latest on the future of Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, who is now looking increasingly likely to leave Stamford Bridge before the end of the summer transfer window

Chelsea have rejected two offers from Como for Trevoh Chalobah with at least two other clubs also interested in the defender.

There have been reports from Italy claiming the Serie A club, managed by former Blues midfielder Cesc Fabregas, have reached an agreement with the west Londoners in relation to Chalobah. However, Stamford Bridge insiders insist that is not the case with talks continuing between Chelsea and Como for the 27-year-old defender.

As reported almost a month ago, Chelsea are open to selling Chalobah this summer in what has turned into a major shake-up under new manager Xabi Alonso. The Blues want a fee in the region of £30million-35m for the Cobham graduate and the player is said to be keen on a switch to Italy.

Inter Milan are also interested in Chalobah with the Serie A champions understood to be long-term admirers of the England international. Como appear to be the front-runners at the time of writing, but no agreement has been struck just yet. There is also an unnamed club, sources say, in the race to sign Chalobah this summer with the defender’s future looking increasingly likely to be away from Stamford Bridge.

Chalobah joined Chelsea at the age of eight and progressed through the club’s academy at Cobham before signing his first professional contract in March 2018. The defender made his senior debut for the Blues in August 2021 and has gone on to make over 150 appearances for the first team.

If the sale goes through, and Chelsea’s asking price is met, the Blues will have made £161m from selling four players this summer following the departures of Andrey Santos, Tyrique George and Marc Cucurella.
