Chelsea have already completed some major business this summer. Four players have been sold by the Blues so far, and Marco Palestra has arrived. But Chelsea’s best deal so far could be done this week.

Marc Cucurella, Andrey Santos, Tyrique George and Jimmy-Jay Morgan have all left Chelsea permanently this summer. It has seen Chelsea rake in a total of £117.5m from initial fees and £17m from Enzo Maresca.

More sales are expected in the coming weeks and months. Xabi Alonso has been tasked with trimming the huge size of his squad, with Chelsea lacking European football and the money that comes with it.

Filip Jorgensen, Gabriel Slonina, Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi, Alejandro Garnacho and Liam Delap have all been linked with the exit door. Trevoh Chalobah is another example, with Inter and Como interested.

Italian reports say Trevoh Chalobah exit is imminent

Chalobah has been lured into the thought of an Italian move after speaking to Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Como, managed by Cesc Fabregas, and Inter Milan have been strongly touted with signing Chalobah.

Initially, it looked like Fabregas would get his man. Then it was ‘expected’ Inter Milan would land the England World Cup defender. Now, a report from Sport Mediaset say Como have returned strongly.

Fabregas’ side have agreed a fee believed to be worth a total of £29.7m. A deal is set to be formalised in the next few hours, with a meeting between both parties set to take place before the close of play today.

Such a move would see Chelsea complete a fifth sale, but this one would be better than the rest. Any fee that Chelsea receives would be the entire profit under Financial Fair Play; all of it would be book profit.

More reasons why Chalobah deal is Chelsea’s best so far

Cucurella’s sale was expected and a fee is fair. But Chelsea have only received £17.5m in book profit for the defender, while Chelsea have received only £18m up top for George, £7m less than the loan clause.

Trevoh Chalobah has been getting away it for too long 😑

This is alarming!

Santos is a big sale, but losing Santos is a blow. Arguably, the Brazil international was one of the more underrated parts of Alonso’s side. Many felt that Santos would suit Alonso if he were given the chance.

Morgan at £4m makes sense, but Chelsea will receive almost £30m for Chalobah. A player who struggled for large parts last season. The Blues struggled in defence and Chalobah played a key role in 2025-26.

Chalobah is not worth the fee that Chelsea are reportedly set to receive for him. Yet, they look set to do so and all of that cash will be book profit. It is a great deal for Chelsea and their best of the summer.
