Player travelling to England to complete Chelsea transfer

Chelsea are now a step away from officially welcoming Denner after Corinthians formally terminated the left-back’s contract. This brings the Brazilian side’s involvement in the transfer to an end.

The 18-year-old agreed his move to Stamford Bridge at the start of 2025. However, FIFA regulations prevented him from joining until he reached adulthood.

Corinthians confirmed on Tuesday that his contract has now been cancelled in the Brazilian FA’s registration system. This completes the final domestic paperwork before the youngster links up with the Blues.

Sport Witness sources understand Denner is due to travel to England next week to complete the final steps of his move. He will then link up with Chelsea, who already have prepared his pathway.

Brazilian insider outlets My Timon and Timão Central report the defender will sign a seven-year contract. It will run until 2032.

Corinthians received €10m (£8.6m) upfront for the youngster, with a further €4m (£3.4m) available in bonuses. Meanwhile, they also retained a 15% share of any future profit Chelsea make from selling him.

Chelsea moved early

Chelsea pushed to secure Denner long before he became eligible to move to England. Corinthians had renewed his contract until 2027.

However, the Brazilian club remained concerned by a relatively low domestic release clause, which left them vulnerable to losing one of their biggest academy prospects.

That prompted the agreement with Chelsea, ensuring Corinthians received a sizeable transfer fee. At the same time, the Premier League side secured one of the country’s standout teenage defenders before rival clubs could make their move.

Before a knee injury interrupted his campaign, Denner had produced an impressive season for Corinthians’ youth teams.

The left-back made 17 appearances and scored three goals. He also provided three assists, underlining why Chelsea were prepared to invest heavily in his potential.

The Blues have already shown their commitment to the youngster by overseeing his knee surgery and rehabilitation in England.

With the paperwork now complete and his trip to England expected next week, Denner is finally ready to begin the next chapter of his career at Stamford Bridge.
