Carlisle United Turn Down Bid for Key Player « Vital Football
According to strong speculation, Carlisle United have rejected a bid for their number one goalkeeper, Gabe Breeze.
According to a report by the transfer correspondent for FootyInsider, Pete O’Rourke, Cambridge United have had an offer turned down by the Blues for the 22-year-old Cumbrian.

On his X/Twitter page Pete O’Rourke confirmed Cambridge had the deal rejected by stating the following:
“Cambridge United have had a bid rejected by Carlisle United for highly rated goalkeeper Gabriel Breeze.”
This would seem to back up some rumours amongst Carlisle fans that the 22-year-old could be on his way out this summer after making 82 first-team appearances for his club.
Cambridge United, of course, competes in League One and would be quite the jump for the youngster, but not forgetting he made four League One appearances the year the Blues blew out of the third tier of the football pyramid. The Us also already have three keepers in their ranks: Jake Eastwood, Ben Hughes, and JJ Briggs.
Many blues fans have at times been critical of Gabe Breeze, with lots of talk this summer of the need for a new number one keeper or at the most someone to challenge Breeze. Carlisle have, of course, already announced the permanent signing of Archie Mair who joined the club on loan from Morecambe last season
Gabe, of course, was put straight into the deep end when he took over as the Blues’ number one in the League Two season and remained the number one last season. He has certainly drawn mixed views of his goalkeeping, with one of the biggest and widely agreed-upon being the distribution.
However, it is important to note as much as he draws criticism, just like any player, he also has his big supporters, and you can see why; he was a breath of fresh air when he started starring for the Blues and, of course, a local lad that goes well with the fans.
