Morgan Rogers is reportedly set to join Chelsea in a £117million deal as the Blues steal in to sign the England star from under Arsenal’s nose.
The England star has been linked with a move to Arsenal throughout the summer so far but it appears the Gunners will miss out on the attacking midfielder after a deal with Aston Villa was struck.
According to The Athletic, a £117m fee has been agreed with Rogers set to sign a six-year contract with the option of a further year. A medical will take place after the weekend with the 23-year-old to be involved in England’s World Cup third-place play-off against France tonight.

It’s said that Arsenal were also in talks but a fee was unable to be agreed and Rogers chose to join Chelsea as Xabi Alonso starts his rebuild at Stamford Bridge.
Mikel Arteta will now have to turn his attention elsewhere as the Spaniard looks to bolster his Premier League winning squad.
The Gunners are yet to make a blockbuster signing after spending £250million last year. Piero Hincapie’s permanent signing for £34m following a successful loan spell last year marks Arsenal’s biggest business so far this window.
The transfer will trigger a windfall for Rogers’ former club, Middlesbrough, who included a 20 per cent sell-on clause into the deal which took the attacking midfielder to Villa Park for an initial £7m with a further £8m in add-ons back in the 2024 winter window.
Rogers started on the right and notched an assist in England’s heartbreaking World Cup semi-final defeat to Argentina and could be in action again tonight in the third-place play-off with France.
The former Manchester City and Middlesbrough star is usually deployed central for Villa but could play out wide to start in the same side as Cole Palmer.
