Arsenal shift attention to 3 other attacking signings after missing out on Morgan Rogers to Chelsea: Reports

Arsenal have reportedly set their sights on three alternatives after missing out on Morgan Rogers to Chelsea. As claimed by The Sun, the Gunners are monitoring Julian Alvarez, Eli Junior Kroupi and Bradley Barcola.

Morgan Rogers was understood to be among Mikel Arteta’s top priorities this summer. However, the England international is set to join the Gunners’ local rivals Chelsea in a deal worth a reported £117 million, as per David Ornstein.

Now, Arsenal are believed to be looking at alternatives and have identified three players as potential options. The trio are Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi and Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) Bradley Barcola respectively.

Julian Alvarez, formerly of Manchester City, has emerged as one of the most coveted players in the world in recent months. The Argentina international has been heavily linked with both Real Madrid and Barcelona but Atletico Madrid reportedly don’t want to sell. He scored 20 goals and provided nine assists in 49 appearances across competitions last season.

Meanwhile, Eli Junior Kroupi has also been the subject of interest from a host of clubs following his brilliant debut season in the Premier League. The Bournemouth star is a reported target for Tottenham Hotspur. He scored 13 goals in 33 Premier League games last season for the Cherries.

Another player Arsenal are keen on is PSG winger Bradley Barcola, who has also attracted interest from Liverpool. The Frenchman is understood to be keen on regular minutes and PSG could be willing to sell. He scored 13 goals and provided seven assists in 49 appearances across competitions last season.

Club Brugge manager makes feelings clear about Christos Tzolis joining Arsenal

Club Brugge manager Ivan Leko has opened up on Christos Tzolis’ imminent move to Arsenal. The Gunners are reportedly set to land the 24-year-old Greece international in a £33.8 million deal from Club Brugge but the deal is yet to be announced officially.

Ivan Leko has heaped praise on the 24-year-old left winger and has backed him to succeed at Arsenal. He has highlighted Tzolis’ dedication to training and his willingness to improve. The Club Brugge manager said:

“(I am) very happy for him. I am very sad for me on one side, because we are losing a top player. This is one fantastic example of somebody who was first coming on the training base, last staying there. Every training was like game for him, giving so much for his career, and then you get the reward to sign for one of the biggest clubs in Europe.”

Leko added:

“(It is a) big thing for him, big thing for Club Brugge, big thing for Belgian football. Good lesson for all young boys that we have, that in football you need to work. Stop the talk, work, try to do everything to improve yourself day by day, exactly what Christos was doing.”

He concluded:

“I am convinced that he will have his minutes, that he will show some highest level in the Premier League and Champions League at Arsenal, and he will show that he is a top player and absolutely deserves to go and be there.”

Tzolis moved to Club Brugge in 2024 in a reported €6 million from Norwich City after a disappointing stint at the Carrow Road. The Arsenal target established himself as one of the best players in the Belgian Pro League, scoring 43 goals and providing 45 assists in 108 appearances.
