Tottenham Hotspur have spent the most money of any club in world football so far this summer, with the north London outfit reacting to back-to-back 17th-placed finishes with the signings of Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka for a combined €267 million.

Their arch-rivals Arsenal, meanwhile, have signed Piero Hincapie on a permanent deal following his loan spell at the club last season, and they have picked up Illan Meslier on a free transfer from Leeds United. The Gunners have also agreed a deal for Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis, but they have missed out on Morgan Rogers, who is set to join Chelsea for a British record fee.

The England star will become the latest player to move to Stamford Bridge this summer, with the Blues having already added Marco Palestra, Geovany Quenda, Emmanuel Emegha, Dastan Satpaev and Denner to Xabi Alonso’s first-team squad. Meanwhile, they have sold Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid, Andrey Santos to Manchester United and Tyrique George to Everton. Youngster Jesse Derry has been sent on loan to Sporting CP for the season.

Manchester City have signed Elliot Anderson for a club-record fee, Mathys Detourbet from Troyes, Jeremy Monga from Leicester City and Pierce Charles from Sheffield Wednesday. Their rivals Man Utd have added Youri Tielemans, Karl Darlow and the aforementioned Santos to Michael Carrick’s squad.

Liverpool are set to miss out on top target Yan Diomande, who wants to join Paris Saint-Germain, but they have still bolstered their team with the signings of Osasuna winger Victor Munoz and Stade Rennais defender Jeremy Jacquet.

On the continent, Barcelona have signed Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon for €80m, and their El Clasico rivals Real Madrid have purchased Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries.

Bayern Munich have completed a deal for Eintracht Frankfurt full-back Nathaniel Brown and AC Milan have signed PSG striker Goncalo Ramos for €74m.
