In a recent post on X, The Athletic claimed that Chelsea have reached a verbal agreement for Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers. It has been mentioned that the Blues have made a £117m bid that was accepted by the Villans for the English talent.

Rogers’ Impressive Form In The Premier League

Rogers enjoyed a decent run of form at the West Midlands club in the previous campaign when he put in a run of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 23-year-old scored 14 times and secured 12 assists in 55 matches for the Villans last season across all competitions.

The English talent is currently one of the most talented wide players in the Premier League. Thus, it is no wonder that the Blues are eyeing a move to bring him to Stamford Bridge this summer.

His current contract at Villa Park will run out in the summer of 2031, which could open the door for Chelsea to sign him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Will Rogers Be A Dream Signing For Chelsea?

Rogers is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it in and around the opponent’s penalty area. He has got the vision to engineer some decent chances for his teammates in the final third and can shoot the ball with power from long range.

The English sensation can chip in by scoring and creating a lot of important goals for his team. Rogers is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also fill in as a winger on either flank if told to do so. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the West London club.

We can expect Rogers to bring more firepower to Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso’s frontline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at Stamford Bridge in the coming seasons.

At 23, Rogers has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for Chelsea to consider in this transfer window. He will also help the Blues compete for some major honours over the next few years. With all things considered, Rogers would be a dream signing for the West London club to pursue this summer.
