So far this transfer window, Chelsea have sold Marc Cucurella and Andrey Santos, while Enzo Fernandez could still depart.

Fernandez wants out, and some rival supporters are now taunting Chelsea for being a “selling club”. However, the Blues are anything but, at least for the time being.

When it comes to Cucurella, Chelsea were not bullied by Real Madrid. The feeling at Stamford Bridge is that Jorrel Hato is more than capable of replacing the World Cup winner.

As for Santos, while the Brazilian is a good footballer, he was only a squad player for Chelsea last season.

Chelsea’s unwillingness to sell Joao Pedro proves they’re not a selling club

Chelsea’s decision not to entertain Barcelona’s advances for Joao Pedro also shows that the Blues have not quite slid down the food chain yet.

According to TEAMtalk, Barcelona have made another approach for Pedro, only for Chelsea to tell the La Liga champions that he is not for sale.

Pedro was Chelsea’s best player last season. He scored 20 goals in all competitions and won the club’s Player of the Season award.

Selling him would have been a problem. Allowing your best player from the previous campaign to leave after just one year despite being on a long-term contract would have sent all the wrong messages and confirmed Chelsea’s status as a selling club.

The fact that the likes of Pedro, Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo are not going anywhere, though, proves Chelsea only sell when they want to and only on their terms.

Chelsea could keep hold of Joao Pedro and Enzo Fernandez

There are no indications that Pedro is going to try to force a move, so he is set to remain in west London.

It is something Fernandez and his agent could try, but there is a lack of interest in the Argentina international.

For now, Real Madrid are not in the picture for Fernandez and they were his biggest suitors. It means Chelsea could end up keeping hold of both Fernandez and Pedro.
