Aston Villa plough on with move for Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson… as Morgan Rogers has his medical ahead of £117m deal at Stamford Bridge
Aston Villa are continuing to discuss a proposed deal for Nicolas Jackson at Chelsea.
Daily Mail Sport reported on Saturday that Jackson has come up in conversation during negotiations over Morgan Rogers’ £117million sale.
A proposed transfer for Rogers, who started his Chelsea medical today, and Jackson was discussed a year ago and the Senegal international is well known to Villa boss Unai Emery.
Other Chelsea players are also under discussion at Villa. They are well aware that Chelsea are looking to sell a number of players this window as Xabi Alonso shapes his squad accordingly.
Alejandro Garnacho was one name mentioned who Villa have looked at previously though he is hoping Roma step up their interest.
Nicolas Jackson went to the World Cup with Senegal and spent last season on loan at Bayern, where he scored eight league goals
Benoit Badiashile is available while Tosin Adarabioyo has admirers but is part of Alonso’s plans. Trevoh Chalobah is the subject of offers from Como.
Villa left back Lucas Digne is having his medical with Paris Saint-Germain today ahead of his £8.5m move.
Villa are maintaining talks with AC Milan for Pervis Estupinan’s transfer and have been in negotiations with Flamengo for Emerson Royal.
Hull City are continuing talks over the figures for Leon Bailey.
However, Emiliano Martinez looks likely to stay despite Juventus interest. Villa have yet to receive a formal bid for the Argentina No1 with the Italians so far reluctant to bid big for the 33-year-old, hence the reason they have explored alternatives such as Spurs’s Guglielmo Vicario.
