Chelsea could be set for £65m cash injection after record-breaking Morgan Rogers agreement
The latest on the future of Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson with the Blues open to offers for the striker in the remaining weeks of the summer transfer window

Aston Villa are interested in signing Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson this summer, sources say, but would have to splash out around £65million for the forward.
The plan is for the 25-year-old striker to report back to pre-season training with the Blues squad – at some point during the club’s four-country tour in the next few weeks – but if the right offer came Chelsea’s way, they would not stand in Jackson’s way. The Senegal international spent last season on loan with Bayern Munich, who chose not to trigger the appearance clause in his deal to sign the striker permanently.
Jackson’s name came up when Chelsea were discussing a deal with Villa for Morgan Rogers. The latter is expected to move to Stamford Bridge on a six-year (with the option of a further 12 months) contract after a £117m agreement – Chelsea’s all-time record – was struck over the course of the weekend.

Villa boss Unai Emery coached Jackson during their time at Villarreal together and there is understood to be a huge mutual respect for each other between the two. The Villans are considering making an official offer for Jackson, who is open to the idea of moving to Villa Park before the September 1 deadline, according to sources close to the player.
The plan is for Xabi Alonso to take a closer look at Jackson when – or if – he reports for pre-season training but Chelsea would accept any offers of £65m for the Senegalese striker. Emery wants a reunion with Jackson but Villa will be reluctant to pay such a hefty price tag after a season or irregular football for the Blues striker during his time in Munich.
Villa expressed an interest in signing Jackson last summer but Chelsea, at the time, were unwilling to let him leave Stamford Bridge. However, after a falling out with former Blues head coach Enzo Maresca, Jackson was allowed to leave the club on a season-long loan deal.
