The Blues included a buy option in Jackson’s loan deal. To sign him permanently, Bayern would need to pay between £56 million and £70 million. For a player who might spend most of his time on the bench, this fee was seen as too high.
Jackson’s agent Diomansy Kamara said, “Jackson had an impressive season. He became the African Champion and scored goals for Bayern. If Bayern still thinks he is not the best for them. We have to trust the process with all these numbers. Surely, any other clubs can come for him.”
Bayern’s manager, Vincent Kompany, reportedly likes Jackson’s attitude. But even with that support, the club chose to invest in other areas of the squad instead.
