According to the Daily Mail’s Isaan Khan on X, there had been interest from the Gunners for some time, but it now looks like Spurs are confident they’re in pole position to sign the talented young midfielder from West Ham United.

This is more bad news for Arsenal after they also looked to be leading the race to sign the likes of Morgan Rogers and Jeremy Monga this summer, only to end up being beaten to those deals by Chelsea and Manchester City, respectively.
It seems this has happened again with Spurs hijacking their move for Allen, in what they’ll hope proves to be a superb bit of business for the long term.

Spurs have shown a lot of ambition this summer to strengthen their squad with big names like Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke.
While those three signings should strengthen Roberto De Zerbi’s side straight away, it also makes sense to build for the future with someone like Allen.
