Premier League midfielder linked with Manchester United keen on move to Chelsea: Reports

Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott is reportedly keen on a move to Chelsea despite interest from Manchester United.

Reports emerged on Tuesday that Bournemouth rejected a £64m bid from Chelsea for Scott, with the Cherries making it clear that the midfielder was not for sale.

However, Scott does not intend to sign a new deal, with Standard Sport reporting that the 22-year-old wants to join Chelsea. The report adds that the Blues have taken further steps in an effort to ward off other potential suitors.

According to a report from the BBC, Scott is also attracting interest from other Premier League sides, including Manchester United, Arsenal, and Manchester City. However, none of the clubs has yet made a formal approach for the England international.

Scott was reportedly first offered a new deal in March, with Bournemouth convinced that they could convince the former Bristol City man to commit his future at the Vitality Stadium. Instead, negotiations over a new deal have slowed, and his long-term future at the club now hangs in the balance.

Chelsea have already made two major signings this summer in Morgan Rogers and Marco Palestra. A move for Scott would make him the Blues’ third of the summer and their second midfield addition.

Scott joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023 for a reported fee of €23 million. Last season, he registered five goal contributions for the Cherries in 39 appearances across all competitions.

He won possession 195 times in the Premier League, the third most of any player. He also made the second most headed clearances (53) and won the seventh most duels (185) among all EPL midfielders last campaign.

Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson open to reuniting with former boss at Aston Villa – Reports

In a different report from Standard SportAston Villa are interested in signing Nicolas Jackson after closing in on a deal for Alejandro Garnacho.

Jackson returned to Stamford Bridge in June after his loan term at Bayern Munich expired. While new head coach Xabi Alonso has said the Senegalese forward would join their preseason tour in Australia and Asia, there is the obvious need to reduce the number of strikers in his squad.

Standard Sport stated that while no club-to-club discussions have taken place, Aston Villa boss Unai Emery is interested in reuniting with Jackson after the pair worked together at Villarreal. Jackson is reportedly also open to a move to Villa Park in search of regular game time.
