Tottenham battle Arsenal to sign former Chelsea winger for £55m this summer
Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on a pacy winger who has been tearing up the Serie A over the last couple of years.
Tottenham are expected to make multiple additions to their forward line before the window slams shut, with a left-winger thought to be a priority for Roberto De Zerbi’s side.
While big names such as Rafael Leao and Antonio Nusa have been mooted as targets for Spurs, the Lilywhites have seemingly not taken concrete steps to land those players.
It has now emerged that the North London club could turn their attention to a USA international, who is no stranger to the Premier League.
Tottenham battling Arsenal and Man United for Christian Pulisic
According to CaughtOffside, Tottenham are now keeping tabs on AC Milan winger Christian Pulisic, who has been exceptional since swapping Chelsea for the Rossoneri three years ago.
The website says that Spurs are looking to sign an attacker who has the flair and technical ability to open up defences, and the 27-year-old fits the bill for their requirements.
However, they face competition from Arsenal and Manchester United, who are also keeping a close eye on Pulisic after he scored 10 goals and provided four assists for Milan last season.
While the winger struggled to make the expected impact at the World Cup, that has seemingly not deterred the trio from considering offering the player a route back to the Premier League.
Milan want big fee for Pulisic despite his contract situation
The USA international is now into the final year of his deal at the San Siro, which puts pressure on Milan as they do not want to lose him on a free this summer.
However, CaughtOffside claims that despite Pulisic’s contract situation, the Serie A club are demanding £55m for his services this summer.
It remains to be seen if the likes of Spurs and Arsenal are willing to put that much on the table, or if they play the waiting game in the belief that the Rossoneri will drop their price, given the winger’s contract situation.
