Chelsea and Manchester United are keen on signing Fenerbahçe’s Archie Brown and could be set for a battle this summer.

That’s according to Sabah, who claim both Chelsea and Manchester United want to sign the left-back.

His performances for the Turkish club have already caught the Premier League’s attention.

Two months ago, Sport Witness covered claims from Turkey that Sunderland made a firm effort. The Black Cats are ready to get ahead of Nottingham Forest. However, there have been no further advances from these two clubs so far.

Chelsea and Manchester United interested

Recent claims from the UK have talked about Xabi Alonso’s side and the Red Devils’ desire to sign the 24-year-old. Fenerbahçe reportedly have no intention of parting ways, a year after signing him.

Sabah, without relaying it, shares their own take on the Blues and Manchester United.

The Premier League duo have followed him and are now showing interest. In fact, the two clubs want to secure his services.

Archie Brown is ‘very keen’ on returning to England and the Yellow Canaries are open to a sale.

Having invested €8m on the player, the Istanbul club are asking €20m plus a percentage of a future sale. However, Fenerbahçe manager İsmail Kartal isn’t keen on parting ways with the player.

He has a contract until 2028, with an option for another year, and Transfermarkt value him at €12m.

Chelsea want a new left-back, after selling Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid in June.

Who is Archie Brown

The Birmingham-born player had spells at West Bromwich Albion and Derby County’s academies. He left the Rams as a free agent and joined Lausanne-Sport in 2021.

His development in Switzerland convinced KAA Gent to sign him in August 2023. Last summer, the fullback left the Jupiler Pro League side for Fenerbahçe.

Last season, he managed five goals and seven assists from 38 matches, operating mainly as a left-back. Archie Brown could return to England in this window, where Chelsea and Manchester United are his suitors.

Fenerbahçe’s conditions should be affordable for Chelsea and Manchester United, but it’s unclear whether they will match it or make further advances.
